We are delighted to be working with a major private UK healthcare organisation, who is currently offering a 'Psychologist' position at their brand new 12 bed CAMHS service site based in the South of England.
In this role, you will be alongside a specialist multidisciplinary team within a CAMHS eating disorder service, you will provide clinical psychology care to children and young people and conduct clinical related research, development and clinical audits to support their recovery.
As a Clinical Psychologist, you will deliver and offer contributions to the development of the specialist treatment pathway, which will see you create working relationships with local community teams, paediatric and other inpatient psychiatric wards.
Job Description:
- Participating in the assessment of referrals, and to provide initial assessment of young people referred to the service.
- Undertaking high quality direct (assessment & therapeutic) and indirect (consultative, advisory, and evaluative) specialist psychological interventions and making autonomous clinical decisions.
- To work therapeutically with young people with complex presentations, undertake the assessments using a broad range of structured psychometric and semi structured clinical methods.
- Formulating and implementing plans of specialist psychological treatment or management of patients’ mental health needs based on a multi-factorial psychological understanding and current evidence based best practise.
- Being professionally and legally responsible and accountable for all aspects of clinical work and care.
- Maintaining high standards of care in all areas of practice and in accordance the HCPC Code of Conduct, professional guidelines and Company Policies and Procedures.
Requirements:
- Good Honours degree in Psychology
- A recognised postgraduate doctorate in clinical/ counselling psychology or equivalent
- Full registration with the HPC (Health Professions Council) and Current Practising
- Evidence of CPD Log
- Up to date knowledge of issues affecting young people with mental health disorders.
- Knowledge of evidence-based practice.
- Working knowledge of legislation & its implications for both clinical practice & professional management in relation to the client group & mental health.
- Working knowledge of all the traditional models of psychotherapy & the evidence for their use & detailed knowledge of 2 or more of them.
