(KS52) Lead Anaesthetic and Recovery Practitioner

We are delighted to be working with a private hospital based within Hertfordshire who are currently offering a Anaesthetic and Recovery Lead Practitioner position within their hospital.

Job Description:

• The post holder will be responsible for the
effective and efficient operational management
of the department/including budget control,
clinical governance, staff development and
training.
• The post holder will be expected to provide
professional leadership within the clinical area
and provide direction and inspirational
leadership to all members of the multi
disciplinary team within the area for which they
are accountable.
• The post holder must have an advanced
in-depth knowledge and expertise of specialities
and be the clinical lead in all areas
• The post holder will be expected to maintain an
outstanding, patient-focused service.
• The post holder is expected to deputise for the
Theatre Manager, as and when required.

Individual Requirements: 
Education

  • Registered Practitioner with NMC or HCPC
  • RN1/ RN2/ RN12
  • RN Child Registered Nurse on the NMC
  • register.
  • To hold the appropriate level for the area of speciality
  • Healthcare or management/leadership degree or Masters degree or equivalent qualification/training and experience.
  • Evidence of ongoing professional development in relevant area of
  • speciality supplemented by specialist clinical, managerial training and CPD Mentorship course
  • Management qualification or equivalent experience
Experience
  • Current and consolidated experience as a senior theatre practitioner / worked as
  • scrub practitioner covering several specialties
  • Previous experience in managing/supervising a clinical team
  • Evidence of continuing professional development Integrity

Knowledge and Skills 
  • Excellent verbal & written communication skills
  • Good interpersonal skills, with the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across all professional disciplines with support, able to deal effectively with difficult, sensitive or challenging issues in a professional manner to effect positive outcomes
  • Able to organise and manage own/others workload to meet care requirements
  • Effective problem solver who meets deadlines
  • Able to teach/train & develop others
  • Good knowledge of clinical governance standards and external bodies, such as the CQC, AfPP
  • Competent IT ‘Office’ skills – Word/Excel Is able to analyse data and identify data trends, effectively present information to groups professional teams
  • Ability to manage staffing and supply budgets effectively plan staff and non staffing resources effectively
  • Manage individual and team performance
