(KS26) Consultant Pulmonologist (Respiratory Medicine)

We are very excited to be working with one of the top private hospitals within the Indian Ocean (Island nation) who currently have a 'Consultant Pulmonologist' position currently available.

As a 'Consultant Pulmonologist', your responsibilities will consist of but not limited to:
  • Obtain comprehensive history, perform and interpret pulmonological exams and tests to aid in the diagnosis of pulmonary diseases and conditions, including CT scans, chest fluoroscopies, ultrasounds, and bronchoscopies.
  • Diagnose and treat conditions, such as asthma, bronchitis, and emphysema.
  • Diagnose and treat allergic disorders related to pulmonology.
  • Diagnose and treat sleep disorders.
  • Performing various specialized procedures in order to acquire samples of the chest wall lining or the lungs, for further analysis.
  • Provide therapeutic interventions including therapeutic thoracentesis, chest tube insertion, bronchoscopy etc. for the treatment of appropriate respiratory conditions
  • Providing immunizations against preventable pulmonary diseases
  • Maintaining detailed notes of appointments with patients, including comments, tests and/or treatments prescribed, and test results.
  • Referring patients to cardiothoracic surgeons and other specialties, when necessary
  • Providing support and advice to patients receiving long-term care.
  • Conducting research into the testing and development of new medications and methods of treatment.
General Requirements
Board Certified / Unencumbered License or registration from home country
Minimum Post Graduate Specialist Degree in Respiratory Medicine
Previous experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities
Adaptable and able to work in a multicultural team
Excellent communication skills and proficiency in English
